The most important part of the mission of the Foundation is to support the operations of the New Jersey Institute for Italian and Italian American Heritage Studies, a not-for-profit entity that was created by the New Jersey State Legislature, under the auspices of the New Jersey Italian and Italian American Heritage Commission. Through this relationship, the Foundation:

• Funds educational programs at the university level through the New Jersey school system and in the community;
• Advances Italian and Italian American studies and language instruction in schools, communities and universities;
• Encourages dissemination of positive media images regarding Italian Americans; and
• Assists in coordinating the statewide activities and public events of the Italian American organizations in New Jersey.
